Film negatives being handled in the lab

Services

What we offer.

35mm developing and scanning. C-41 and black and white. Four service types, honest specs, no surprises.

Develop Only

from $12

Development by hand. Negatives returned in archival sleeves, ready for your own scanner or a future scan order.

Every roll is developed personally — consistent temperature, consistent agitation, consistent results. C-41 color negative, standard black and white, or custom black and white chemistry. Negatives are cleaned and sleeved after processing.

This is the right option if you scan your own film, shoot high volume and prefer to be selective about what you scan, or just want your negatives processed and archived correctly.

B&W custom development means exactly that — if you want to choose a specific developer, tell me at submission and I'll accommodate it.

C-41 color$12
B&W standard$14
B&W custom$18

Develop + Auto Scan

from $19

Development plus a fast, honest scan. One density setting, whole roll. No individual corrections, no manual spotting.

Auto scanning is designed to be fast and affordable, not invisible. Here is exactly what it means: I select one representative frame on the roll, set the scanner density to that frame, and scan the rest of the roll at those settings. No per-frame corrections. No B&W dust removal. Files delivered as TIFF or high-quality JPEG.

If your roll has consistent lighting — daylight street photography, portraits in a controlled environment, landscapes — auto scans will be clean and ready to edit. If your roll mixes bright sun and deep shadow across different frames, expect variation. Most photographers who shoot consistently and edit their own work find auto scans excellent value.

This is not a lesser scan. It is a different scan — designed for photographers who know what they need.

Develop + Premium Scan

from $30

Development plus individually evaluated scans. Operator attention on every frame.

Every frame in a premium scan order receives individual density evaluation. C-41 scans are evaluated for both color balance and exposure. B&W scans are evaluated for tonal range and manually spotted for dust. Files are delivered clean and finished.

The difference from auto scanning is operator time. Auto scans are set once and run. Premium scans are reviewed frame by frame — exposure, density, and color evaluated individually before each file is saved.

ICE infrared dust and scratch removal is applied to C-41 scans. B&W is manually spotted — silver-based film requires a human eye, not an automated channel.

Every premium order includes both the converted files (positive-rendered TIFF or JPEG, ready to use) and the raw scanner negatives — the full-resolution scanner output before any inversion or color work. If you ever want to reprocess from the source, it's there.

Scan Only

from $10

Already developed negatives, scanned to auto or premium spec.

If you developed your own film or have a drawer full of old negatives, scan-only orders work exactly like the scan portion of any other order — auto or premium, same specifications, same turnaround. Send your negatives in archival sleeves with your roll count and scan preference.

Note: negatives must be already developed and sleeved. I do not process undeveloped film without the development fee.
